How Much Does Dental Billing Cost?
Many billing companies make you request a quote before they will tell you anything. There is no operational reason for it. Our tiers, what is included, and the monthly minimum are on the pricing page. What you'd actually pay depends on volume and which services you need, and that's what the consult sorts out.
How much does dental billing outsourcing cost?
Our pricing is published on this site. Most practices land in the low thousands per month depending on volume, covering claim submission, follow-up, payment posting, and A/R work, with verification priced separately. Many billing companies make you request a quote before they will tell you anything.
The actual prices and tiers are on our pricing page.
Is outsourced billing actually cheaper than hiring someone?
Almost always, once you count the whole cost. A competent insurance person runs twenty-five to thirty-five dollars an hour, plus benefits, plus turnover, plus the fact that if it turns out they actually were not competent, you don't find out until months later when your accounts are already a mess.
What's the real cost of having my office manager do insurance?
It's not the salary. It's what that person is not doing. A front desk focused on reactivation, treatment follow-up, and scheduling family members of existing patients can move a practice twenty to thirty percent. Insurance is administrative work. You shouldn't have to pay thirty plus dollars an hour to chase money you already earned.
What could that team member be worth if they weren't doing insurance?
Twenty to thirty percent growth, in our experience, just from following up on what walks out the door every day. Unaccepted treatment. Patients who never rescheduled. Family members of existing patients who do not have a dentist. Those are free to pursue and most practices pursue none of them.
Why do many dental billing companies hide their pricing?
Because it lets them price each practice differently and forces a sales conversation before you know whether you can afford them. There is no operational reason for it. Our tiers, what is included, and the monthly minimum are published. If a company will not tell you what something costs before a discovery call, notice that.
How much do virtual credit cards actually cost a practice?
Take the monthly insurance payments arriving by virtual card and multiply by your merchant processing rate. A practice collecting fifty thousand a month that way at three percent is paying eighteen thousand dollars a year to receive money it already earned. We have seen practices running a hundred thousand a month through virtual cards.
You do not have to accept them. That's on how a dental claim gets paid.
