We know dentistry. That's why we're good at insurance.

The Problem

Ask a dentist what they think about insurance companies. Now watch what happens to their face. Notice they are not smiling.

It's not just an issue of money, though reimbursement is bad. It's the volume of work, the labor cost, and the aggravation that the whole insurance game creates in their practice. The hold times. The claims that were submitted and got "lost." The runaround when trying to get an answer. And to add insult to injury, after all that work, they're met with downcoding, bundling, or just not paying a claim at all. At the end of the day, when a claim gets denied or under-reimbursed, the patient doesn't blame the insurance company. They blame the practice. The doctor did the work, carried all the costs associated with it, had their team spend hours chasing payment, and they still end up looking like the bad guy.

Now imagine all of this gone from your practice.

Not reduced. Gone. Nobody on your team on hold. Nobody resubmitting a claim for the third time. Nobody explaining to a patient why a benefit they were promised doesn't exist. Instead, your team spends its day contacting, scheduling, and servicing patients.

That's what happens after we enter the picture.

Sabri Blumberg

Smile Care Claims was founded by Sabri Blumberg. Since 1998, Sabri has held a senior leadership position at MGE, the largest dental practice management coaching and training company in North America.

Seeing the effects rising labor costs had on her clients, especially since 2020, she was of the mind that outsourcing insurance matters made sense. Until she started seeing the results.

Many of them had more of a mess after outsourcing billing and verification. Claims that were never filed. Skyrocketing A/R and accounts nobody tracked. Aging reports that hadn't been touched in months, and balances written off without the office knowing anything about it, or why.

Faced with this dilemma, Sabri took the only logical step. Bringing to bear her 30 plus years of experience in the industry and her intimate knowledge of dentistry, she decided to build the company she had been looking for.

So in late 2024, after partnering with two dentists who run a large private practice of their own and several other MGE executives, Smile Care Claims was born.

How We Work

At Smile Care Claims, every practice gets a dedicated account manager. One person, who learns your office, your practice management software, your payer mix, and your team. You reach them directly, by phone or email, not through a portal or a ticket system. When you need something, you talk to the person who handles your account, not whoever answers.

Claims go out and payments get posted daily. Nothing sits waiting for someone to get to it.

Denied claims are investigated and resubmitted. They don't get written off because chasing them is inconvenient. We stay on top of them until you get paid.

Early in our relationship, your A/R is thoroughly analyzed, cleaned up, and worked, including the old balances everyone gave up on. Many practices assume an old claim is dead money. Often it isn't. We find out, and if it can still be paid, we go get it.

Verification is fast and accurate. Your team isn't promising patients coverage that turns out not to exist. No upset patients wondering why insurance didn't pay. And even more important, you know what insurance will pay, making for more confident treatment presentations.

And nobody writes anything off without your approval. That's your money and your decision.

Our account managers also teach. We find it's best if your office has a good command of how insurance works, as well as what's needed to ensure you get paid fast. Your team ends up better at handling insurance than they were before we got there, which is the opposite of what outsourcing usually does to a practice.

Our pricing is published on our pricing page, including the monthly minimum. What you'd actually pay depends on which services you need and how much volume there is, and that's what the consult sorts out.
